Cincinnati - Northern Kentucky has been growing to be a favorite destination for many Christian faith tours. The region has lots to offer when it comes to sites and attractions that can enrich your spirituality and relationship to the Almighty.

One of the most popular activities in the region is going to an Ark Encounter Tour. The tour takes you to a spiritually-enriching journey to the numerous sites and attractions the region has to offer.

A life-sized, Biblically accurate reconstruction of Noah's Ark, the Ark Encounter building is a sight to behold outside. Inside the structure, the visitors are taken back to the time of Noah and the Great Flood. Divided into three decks the Ark contains exhibits of models of the kind of animals which could have been in the ark, dioramas of Noah's workshop, a blacksmith, scenes of life inside the ark, as well as displays depicting the sinfulness of the world that lead to its destruction. Also on display are items from the Green Collection, artifacts from Biblical time, and ancient Israel. On the park grounds, there is a playground, zip line adventure, a petting zoo, and a restaurant for the whole family to enjoy.

Go farther back in time at the Creation Museum. Designed by a former Universal Studios creative director, the 75,000 square feet facility brings the pages of Genesis to life. Its exhibits take visitors to a journey through creation, the Garden of Eden, and the Great Flood. The museum also houses a 78-seater planetarium that explores the creation of the universe. Its state of the art 200-seater theater enhances your Biblical journey with 4-d experience and state-of-the-art special effects. The museum also hosts hands-on workshops and educational programs that help visitors explore the story of the world's creation. Just like its sister attraction, the Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum also offers outdoor activities such as the Eden Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and the Screaming Zips Lines for a one-of-a-kind experience.

The Cincinnati - Northern Kentucky region is also home to one of the most beautiful churches in the United States, the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. Built in 1895, its exterior was inspired by the Notre Dame Cathedral, and its interiors were modeled from the Basilica of Saint-Denis - both in Paris, France. Inside, visitors are awe-inspired by the view of the world's largest handmade church stained glass window depicting the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. The church also contains murals made by Covington native Frank Duveneck and three historic pice organs.

Right across the river in Cincinnati, the St. Peter in Chains Cathedral is located. Strikingly different from the design of most large churches in America, the Cathedral was built in the Greek-revival style, reminiscent of classical Athenian buildings. Construction began in 1841 and the church was formally dedicated in 1845. Since then, the church with its massive single spire was the tallest structure in Cincinnati for decades. The cathedral is also distinct from most Roman Catholic churches as the art inside such as the mosaics of the Stations of the Cross, the Corinthian columns, and the bronze doors are clearly Greek-inspired.

Though not exactly a religious site, the National Underground Railroad Museum is still a great addition to a faith-based tour in Cincinnati. Visitors can surely learn something from the faith of the enslaved peoples as they struggle towards freedom and liberty. The museum pays tribute and commemorates all the efforts to "abolish human enslavement and secure freedom for all people." The museum's main exhibit is the only known surviving rural slave pen that housed slaves before they are transported and auctioned to the slave markets. The location of the museum is recognition of the role the city of Cincinnati played to the Underground Railroad, which is the way for many slaves' escape to freedom.

Also found in Kentucky, is the World Peace Bell which is one of the seven Peace Bells located in different parts of the world. From 2000-2006, it was also the world's largest free-swinging bell at 12 feet high and 12 feet wide, and weighing 66,000 pounds. The bell bears inscriptions of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and markings for important historical events from the past millennium.

Other equally great and notable spots of interest that you can include on your visit to the Cincinnati - Northern Kentucky region include the Newport Aquarium, the Cincinnati Art Museum, the National Sign Museum, King's Island Theme Park, the Cincinnati Zoo, and many others.
